Independently develops error free code with high quality validation of applications guides other developers and assists Lead 1 – Software Engineering

Outcomes:

• Understand and provide input to the application/feature/component designs; developing the same in accordance with user stories/requirements.

• Code debug test document and communicate product/component/features at development stages.

• Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

• Optimise efficiency cost and quality by identifying opportunities for automation/process improvements and agile delivery models

• Mentor Developer 1 – Software Engineering and Developer 2 – Software Engineering to effectively perform in their roles

• Assists Lead 1 – Software Engineering on Technical design. Review activities and begin demonstrating Lead 1 capabilities in making technical decisions

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong expertise in Python, AWS services, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience designing and building APIs, microservices, and backend applications that are scalable, secure, and cloud-ready. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain APIs and microservices using Python. Build and support backend applications leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and S3. Write efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for application data workflows. Develop RESTful APIs and integrations to support internal and external systems. Ensure scalability, security, and performance in microservices-based architectures. Collaborate with product, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications and services. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and documentation. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development. Proven expertise in API design, development, and integration (REST, JSON, authentication, etc.). Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and related best practices. Proficiency in SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL) including performance tuning. Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3). Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and agile development practices. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Preferred Skills Experience with API security (OAuth2, JWT, Cognito, etc.).
