Job Title – Manager / DM / AM – Safety (ISU)

The Manager – Safety / DM / AM will be part of QHSE Team and will be directly reporting to the Unit QHSE Head. The main purpose of the role is to Promote and Develop Safety culture, actively communicate the importance of Safety and set Safety Targets and recommend budgeting requirements pertaining to Safety department of India Supply Unit.

Are you the one?

  • Master of Engineering in Industrial Safety (TN – DISH Approved College)
  • Above 8 years of experience in a relevant role in Safety in Automotive/ Engineering industry / Elevator / Escalator
  • In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety law and related Local regulations
  • Advanced skills in using MS Office programs and computer proficiency
  • Ability to train and manage people effectively and communicate proactively
  • Strong skills in incident investigation, auditing, analysis, and problem-solving
  • High level of teamwork and collaboration ability
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of effective communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Safety - Tools, Methods & Systems
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) and local Language (Tamil), a third language would be an added preference
  • Experience of working in international and multicultural environment and/or company would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge on Safety Management System / ISO 45001, and certifications experience would be an added advantage

What will you be doing?

  • Promote and develop proactive Safety culture, actively communicates the importance of Safety and engages the organization.
  • Promotes, with Unit management, the recognition and conformance to customer and KONE requirements.
  • Sets local Safety targets, in-line with global targets.
  • Is responsible for Safety reporting (Global / India Level) in Unit.
  • Facilitate and evaluate the implementation and contributes to the development of KONE Safety Management System (SMS, e.g. ISO), monitor its performance and combine its management with other management systems, such as quality and environment.
  • Is responsible for planning, execution, and follow-up of (safety) audits as tool for assuring process compliance and identifying areas for process performance and safety improvement.
  • Lead and support any required corrective actions required due to non-conformance.
  • Is responsible for organizing Safety Committee meeting on monthly basis.
  • Is Responsible for Safety Employee engagement activities – Toolbox meetings, National and Global Safety Week and other Safety events (Drills).
  • Is responsible for PPE Management.
  • Is responsible for Preparation of Safety Budget.
  • Comply & adhere with requirements of Safety Officer Roles & Responsibilities as described in Tamil Nadu Safety Officer Rules 2005.
  • Responsible for driving continuous development of Safety competences within Unit by providing and promoting training
  • Demonstrate ownership of Safety by role-modelling.
