To oversee daily on-site construction activities and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and timelines. The Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising workers, monitoring progress, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with engineers and subcontractors to achieve smooth site operations.

Role & responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

  • Supervise and monitor daily construction activities including civil, structural, masonry, plastering, flooring, finishing, and external works.
  • Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and work methods.
  • Allocate work to site labor and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate daily tasks between workers, foremen, and engineers to ensure work progresses as per schedule.
  • Monitor work progress and report delays, issues, or deviations to the Site Engineer/Project Manager.

2. Quality & Workmanship

  • Check that materials and workmanship meet approved standards.
  • Ensure rebar, shuttering, concreting, and finishing activities are done as per instructions and quality requirements.
  • Highlight any non-conformities or poor workmanship for correction before proceeding to the next activity.
  • Support QA/QC team during inspections and testing.

3. Material & Resource Management

  • Ensure materials are available at the work front as per daily requirements.
  • Coordinate with the store department for material issuance and proper utilization.
  • Prevent wastage and misuse of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain records of manpower, material consumption, and work progress.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure work sequencing and safety compliance.
  • Attend daily coordination meetings with site engineers and report work progress and challenges.
  • Ensure drawings and instructions are properly communicated to site workers.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce site safety rules and ensure workers use PPE and follow safety procedures.
  • Report unsafe acts, incidents, or hazards to the Safety Officer or Project Engineer.
  • Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained at the site.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Diploma / ITI in Civil Engineering or Construction.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in site supervision within a construction contracting firm.
  • Industry Exposure: Residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
