Oracle Database Administrator

Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Autonomous Database (ADB) - both Dedicated and Serverless models. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in supporting PeopleSoft databases, refresh and backup strategies, and scripting to automate key DBA tasks.

Youll play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise-grade Oracle database environments in hybrid and cloud-native landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases (12c/19c/23ai) across environments including development, test, and production.
• Manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) tenancies, compute, storage, and networking relevant to database operations.
• Work with Autonomous Database (ADB) (Dedicated & Serverless) : provisioning, performance tuning, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Perform PeopleSoft database refreshes, clones, and environment synchronization using export/import, RMAN, Data Pump, and Cloud Manager utilities.
• Implement robust backup and recovery strategies, leveraging OCI-native tools, RMAN, and ADB utilities.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Terraform for OCI provisioning.
• Troubleshoot complex performance issues, locking/blocking, space usage, and SQL tuning.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity across environments.
• Collaborate with PeopleSoft Admins and App teams on patches, tools upgrades, and schema changes.
• Document database environments, configurations, and SOPs for support handover and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - including Compute, Storage, Networking, and Identity & Access Management.
• Hands-on experience with ADB Serverless and ADB Dedicated.
• Strong background in PeopleSoft database support (HCM, FSCM, CS modules).
• Proficient in backup/restore strategies, including RMAN, Oracle Data Pump, and OCI Object Storage integration.
• Strong scripting ability (Shell, Bash, or Python).
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like OEM, OCI Monitoring, or third-party solutions.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Admin.
• OCI Architect Associate certification.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Cloud Manager.
• Expertise with Oracle Autonomous Dabases, Scripting, and DB 23ai.
