Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and optimize Postgres databases for high availability and performance.
  • Administer MongoDB for session storage management.
  • Implement monitoring dashboards using Grafana with PGWatch.
  • Perform SQL performance tuning and optimization.
  • Oversee database design, data modeling, and architecture reviews.
  • Provide production support including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure data security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database usage in applications.

Mandatory Skills (Must-Have)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Postgres administration (installation, configuration, optimization).
  • MongoDB administration knowledge (session storage use cases).
  • Expertise with Grafana + PGWatch for monitoring.
  • Proven experience in SQL performance tuning & optimization.
  • Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, and architecture principles.
  • Experience working in production support environments with strong troubleshooting skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or GCP equivalents).
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases beyond MongoDB.
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Shell, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
  • Experience with high-availability, clustering, and replication strategies.
