The Role:
 We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Video Content Editor to join our team. This is a hands-on, mid-level role for a visual storyteller who can transform raw footage of our projects into short, captivating, and informative videos for our social media channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of what makes content "scroll-stopping" and will be responsible for the entire video workflow, from concept to final post.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation & Editing:
   Edit and produce high-quality, sub-1-minute videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This includes cutting raw footage, adding engaging transitions, on-screen text, music, and sound effects.
• Storytelling:
   Craft compelling visual narratives from behind-the-scenes footage, project showcases, and educational material to drive client engagement and build brand authority.
• Post-Production Management:
   Manage all aspects of the post-production process, including file organization, color correction/grading to match our brand aesthetic, and audio mixing.
• Content Strategy & Curation:
   Stay up-to-date with the latest social media video trends, music, and editing techniques. Proactively suggest new content ideas that align with our brand and marketing goals.
• Publishing & Scheduling:
   Be responsible for the final upload, captioning, hashtag research, and scheduling of all video content on our social media platforms.
• Performance Analysis:
   Monitor and report on key video performance metrics (e.g., views, engagement rate, shares, saves) to inform future content decisions.
• Collaboration:
   Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to ensure a consistent brand voice and visual style across all video content.

Job Specification (JS)

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience:
   At least 2-3 years of proven professional experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio of short-form social media video content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts).
• Freelance/Media House Experience:
   Prior experience in a media house or as a freelance video editor for brands is highly desirable.
• Platform Expertise:
   Demonstrated success in creating engaging content specifically for Instagram and/or YouTube is a significant advantage.
• Education:
   A degree or certification in Film, Media Production, Marketing, or a related field is a plus, but not required with a strong portfolio.

Technical Skills:

• Core Editing Software:
   Proficiency with at least one industry-standard Non-Linear Editing (NLE) software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Motion Graphics/Graphics:
   Experience with Adobe After Effects or similar software for creating on-screen text, animated titles, and simple motion graphics.
• Visual & Audio Skills:
   Strong understanding of color correction, color grading, sound design, and audio mixing to create polished, professional-quality videos.
• Platform-Specific Knowledge:
   Deep knowledge of social media platform requirements, including optimal aspect ratios, video formats, and export settings for a variety of devices.
