Position Title: Video Editor

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview: KL University is seeking a talented and creative Video Editor who has good knowledge of editing videos using software's like the ADOBE family with a creative eye and should understand the latest trends to be at par with the market competitors, to produce high-quality video content that supports the university's marketing, academic, and promotional initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling through visuals and possess strong technical skills in video editing. With 2-3 years of experience in video editing and post-production, the Video Editor will play a critical role in shaping the universitys visual communication.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Video Production and Editing

  • Edit raw footage into polished video content for marketing campaigns, events, advertisements, and academic projects.
  • Add transitions, animations, motion graphics, subtitles, and sound effects to enhance the visual appeal and narrative quality.
  • Create promotional videos, tutorials, and event highlights that align with the universitys branding guidelines.

2. Content Enhancement

  • Optimize video content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and presentations.
  • Ensure colour correction, audio levelling, and other post-production techniques are applied for professional-grade output.

3. Technical Operations

  • Operate and maintain video editing software, cameras, lighting, and other production equipment.
  • Manage digital assets, ensuring proper organization and storage of raw footage and completed projects.

4. Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to understand project goals and deliver visually compelling content.
  • Coordinate with academic departments to create engaging educational videos and tutorials.

5. Innovation and Trend Analysis

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in video editing software, tools, and storytelling techniques.
  • Experiment with creative approaches to improve video quality and audience engagement.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors or masters degree in Multimedia, Film Production, Visual Communication, or a related field.

Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

Strong understanding of colour grading, motion graphics, and audio editing.

Familiarity with animation tools such as After Effects is a plus.

Experience in video editing for social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) is desirable.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent storytelling and creative visualization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of video compression formats and resolution optimization for various platforms.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
