Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, enforcing company health and safety protocols, and complying with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety training sessions for employees.
  • Maintain records of safety-related activities including training, incidents, and inspections.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and PPE are available, used correctly, and maintained in good condition.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous employee engagement.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree/Diploma in Engineering or a related field with a Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer in a relevant industry
  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and compliance regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in preparing safety reports and documentation.
