This is a leadership role, accountable for overseeing and managing the financial operations, strategies and performance of the organization. The role involves managing financial planning, Reporting, Risk
Management and ensuring the organizations financial health and compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires deep expertise in technical accounting (IFRS/GAAP), transfer pricing and management
of IP assets. Individual will be responsible to ensure the integrity of financial data, provide strategic financial counsel to executive leadership, and partner with legal, R&D, and tax teams to optimize the
value of the assets portfolio.
Essential Desirable
Education Background - Bachelors/Masters degree in Finance
or equivalent. CA/CS/CMA or equivalent. Candidates with CS degree will be given preference
Work Experience -Typically requires 15+ years relevant
experience . Global experience of working in IP Assets Management with
teams across Geographies will be given preference
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and ensures execution of financial strategy in alignment with organizational business goals. This includes long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive asset management strategies to achieve investment objectives, including maximizing returns and mitigating risk.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to guide decisions on assets acquisitions, licensing agreements, and divestitures.
- Oversees the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting for all intangible assets, ensuring strict compliance with global accounting standards (IFRS and GAAP).
- Establish and enforce robust financial controls and policies for capitalization, amortization, impairment, and disposition of asset.
- Lead the preparation of all IP-related financial disclosures for internal and external reporting,
- Continuously monitor and manage risks associated with the portfolio, implementing proactive measures to protect asset value and ensure compliance
- Conducts in-depth financial analysis to provide insights into the organization's financial performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Uses data-driven analysis to make strategic financial decisions.
- Implements risk management strategies to safeguard assets and investments.
- Ensures organization complies with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws in the regions where it operates.
- Drive the development and implementation of the company's transfer pricing policies for inter-company IP usage, ensuring compliance with global tax regulations.
- Oversee the revenue recognition process, including the application of complex margin-sharing or cost-plus models with operating companies (OpCos).
- Collaborate with the tax and legal teams to manage and defend transfer pricing documentation during audits.
- Maintains strong relationships with regulatory authorities and auditors, where applicable.
- Direct the valuation and financial modeling for all intangible assets.
- Drive the annual and ad-hoc impairment testing process, providing a comprehensive analysis of asset value fluctuations.
- Partner with R&D and business development to optimize the financial categorization of expenses (Opex vs. Capex) related to new IP development.
- Establishes and maintains robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to prevent fraud, errors, and financial mismanagement.
- Oversee the management of the finance information systems and necessary reports for critical analysis of financial performance.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Process driven and commercially astute.
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, specifically regarding intangible assets.
- Good understanding of financial modeling, analysis and valuation skills.
- Excellent business negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Substantial knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
- Ability to think strategically and align financial strategies with the organization's overall business objectives.
- Substantial proficiency in identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex financial information to various stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Commitment to ethical and responsible financial practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Commitment to staying updated with industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices through ongoing professional development

Essential Knowledge and Analytical Skills
- Substantial financial leadership experience in a related environment, managing people, processes and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives.
- Substantial demonstrable experience with and understanding of the deliverables of a financial function.
- Substantial strategic planning experience.
- Substantial experience managing finance operations, including across shared services and outsourced service providers
