We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with deep expertise in handling the financial accounting for import and export operations.The ideal candidate will be a master of trade documentation, possess an in-depth understanding of Indian GST and TDS regulations, and be highly proficient in Tally ERP. You will be responsible for end-to-end accounting, compliance, and financial reporting related to our international trade activities.

Role & responsibilities

A. Import & Export Documentation & Accounting:

  • Manage and oversee the entire cycle of import and export documentation, including:


• Import: Bills of Entry, Customs Clearance documents, Purchase Orders, Invoices, Packing Lists, and coordination with CHAs (Customs House Agents).


• Export: Shipping Bills, Bills of Lading/Airway Bills, Foreign Invoices, E-BRC (Electronic Bank Realization Certificate), and other export incentive documents.

  • Calculate and account for custom duty, IGST on imports, and other port charges.
  • Ensure accurate and timely booking of purchase and sales entries in both domestic and foreign currencies.
  • Handle accounting for freight, insurance, and other overheads related to international shipments.
  • Verify and process bills from suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents.

B. GST & Indirect Taxation:

  • Manage all aspects of GST compliance, with a special focus on international trade.
  • Prepare and file accurate GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-9/annual returns.
  • Expertly handle the filing of GST Refund applications for exports (LUT/Bond) and IGST refunds on exports.
  • Calculate and claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) accurately and ensure its timely reversal as per rules.
  • Handle the complexities of SEZ/EOU transactions, if applicable.

C. TDS & Direct Taxation:

  • Ensure accurate calculation, deduction, and deposit of TDS as per the Income Tax Act.
  • Prepare and issue TDS certificates (Form 16A) to vendors and parties in a timely manner.
  • File quarterly TDS returns (Form 26Q, 27Q, etc.) without errors.
  • Assist in the preparation of data for income tax returns and tax audits.

D. General Accounting & Financial Reporting:

  • Perform end-to-end accounting in Tally ERP, including but not limited to journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and bank reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
