Kitron India is currently looking for a Senior Engineer – AI/ML (Vision Systems) based in Chennai, India, who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of our programs and an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Automation.

Job Description:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of AI/ML and computer vision engineers.
  • Design, architect, and implement vision-based AI/ML systems for industrial, manufacturing, or product-based applications.
  • Analyze requirements, define problem statements, and propose innovative, scalable AI/ML approaches.
  • Develop machine learning models, deep learning architectures (CNNs, GANs, Vision Transformers), and image processing pipelines.
  • Work with image processing techniques such as object detection, segmentation, OCR, and defect detection systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and product teams to deploy AI/ML models on edge devices, cloud platforms, or in real-time/batch production environments.
  • Utilize frameworks and libraries such as Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Scikit-learn.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate datasets, tools, and GPU-based environments (CUDA, TensorRT, etc.) when required.
  • Exposure to 3D vision, stereo cameras, LiDAR, or TOF sensors will be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows is desirable.
  • Continuously improve model accuracy, robustness, and performance while staying updated with the latest research and trends in AI/ML and computer vision.
  • Prepare documentation, presentations, and reports for internal and customer-facing reviews.
  • Support project planning, effort estimation, and resource allocation for AI/ML tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in AI/ML with a strong focus on computer vision applications.
  • Proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks (OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn).
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning architectures (CNNs, GANs, Vision Transformers).
  • Strong knowledge of classical vision techniques and industrial vision systems.
  • Experience in deploying AI/ML solutions on edge devices or cloud platforms.
  • Exposure to industrial domains such as manufacturing, automotive, or robotics will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to lead small teams, provide mentorship, and manage deliverables within deadlines.
