The IZOT product line includes BMC's Intelligent Z Optimization & Transformation products, which help the world's largest companies to monitor and manage their mainframe systems. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the mainframe domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, deep learning and GEN AI domain. This role involves leveraging data to derive insights, build predictive & generative models, and enhance our mainframe services.

• Build out prototypes using a variety of cutting-edge technologies and tools.

• Develop quantitative models using a variety of programs/software to support predictive assessments.

• Support adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions.

• Perform multiple forms of advanced analyses, sustainment, optimization, text analytics, machine learning, parametric and non-parametric statistical models & techniques.

• Build, test, validate and demonstrate analytical models through various relevant error metrics and calibration techniques.

• Design algorithms that require several different models/methods to be used in an ensemble.

• Deploy models into production.

To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with expertise in Machine learning, Deep Learning and MLOps.

• Hands on experience with Prompt Engineering, RAG, LLM Evaluation and LLM Fine tuning.

• Familiarity with different LLM Architectures.

• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.

• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Kibana) and experience with dashboard creation.

• Knowledge of SQL for data manipulation

• Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of several factors.

• Self-learner, flexible and able to work in a multi-tasked and dynamic environment.

• Collaborate with domain experts to understand business requirements and formulate data-driven solutions.

• Implement strategies for model optimization, taking into account the constraints and requirements of mainframe environments.

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of Data Science, or a related field experience.

• Hands on experience with Prompt Engineering, RAG, LLM Evaluation and LLM Fine tuning

• Solid understanding in NLP concepts and familiarity with NLP libraries.

• Familiarity in writing Python backend API's using Fast API, Flask or other frameworks.

• Knowledge of fine tuning LLMs including Llama, BERT and GPT based.

• Self-starter and intellectual curiosity

• Great communication skills, ability to explain predictive analytics to non-technical audience.

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries.

• Proficiency in data exploration techniques and tools

• Familiarity with observability tools and practices.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., OCP, AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Knowledge of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and data visualization techniques.

• Experience with Agile methodology, use of Atlassian products Jira, Confluence.

• Worked on multiple Gen AI projects and delivered them E2E successfully.

• Knowledge of forecasting and predictive modeling.

• Any Azure or AWS Cloud certification

• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

• Familiarization with DevOps tools and concepts such as Infrastructure as code, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.

• Mainframe knowledge is a plus

At BMC we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 4,542,800 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
