Position: Senior Manager – Application Management

Location: Wadala, Mumbai

Reports To: Head – Application & Infra Services

Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Application Management will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end application landscape supporting Trent's Fashion Apparel business. This includes core enterprise applications such as SAP, POS, PLM, WMS, SRD, Omnichannel platforms, and related infrastructure. The role will focus on ensuring system stability, driving innovation, enabling seamless business operations, and leading digital transformation initiatives in line with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Application Ownership & Management

  • Own and manage the portfolio of applications supporting Fashion Apparel business operations.
  • Ensure smooth functioning, stability, and performance of enterprise systems (SAP, POS, WMS, PLM, etc.).
  • Establish governance, SLAs, and KPIs for application support and enhancements.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and audit readiness of all business applications.

Business Partnership & Transformation

  • Act as the bridge between business functions and IT to understand requirements and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Partner with merchandising, supply chain, finance, and store operations teams to digitize business processes.
  • Drive automation, efficiency improvements, and customer experience enhancements through technology.
  • Lead application transformation initiatives aligned to Trent's growth strategy (e.g., Cloud, Mobility, AI/ML, RFID integration).

Project Delivery & Innovation

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of new application projects, ensuring timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and business adoption.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (vendors, consultants) for solution design and delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption relevant to the fashion retail business.
  • Ensure seamless integration across applications to enable omnichannel and digital-first capabilities.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of functional/technical application specialists.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery excellence, innovation, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to clean core, standardization, and best practices in IT architecture.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of SAP (S4 HANA, RISE preferred), POS systems, PLM (Centric PLM preferred), WMS, and other retail-specific applications.
  • Proven expertise in application lifecycle management, integration architecture, and retail domain knowledge.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Strong project management skills (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
  • Vendor evaluation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
  • Exposure to RFID, AI/ML in retail, Omnichannel commerce, Cloud platforms preferred.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Computer Science. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 12–16 years in IT application management, with at least 5–6 years in retail / fashion apparel industry.

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale application programs, managing cross-functional teams, and driving technology-enabled transformation.
