Symbiosis Educational Consultants is seeking an AVP of Instructional Design to oversee course development for 85+ university partnerships across the US and Middle East. You'll ensure every course we deliver meets the rigorous standards expected by top-tier research institutionson time, every time.

The Role: You'll lead our instructional design team, managing course development pipelines from kickoff to delivery. You'll set quality benchmarks, build scalable processes, mentor designers, collaborate with faculty at prestigious universities, and ensure projects stay on schedule without compromising academic rigor. You'll facilitate high-stakes meetings with faculty and senior staff, lead workshops that train university partners on best practices, and represent Symbiosis as a thought leader in digital learning. This position involves regular travel to the US to conduct on-site faculty meetings, and partner visits. You're accountable for both the "what" (world-class learning design) and the "when" (meeting institutional deadlines that impact thousands of students).

You Must Have:

  • Exceptional communication skills—you write with clarity and sophistication, present with confidence, and command respect in rooms full of PhDs and university leadership
  • 8+ years instructional design experience working with higher education institutions, with proven leadership experience
  • Demonstrated track record facilitating high-stakes meetings, workshops, and faculty training sessions at various universities
  • Portfolio demonstrating courses designed for top-tier universities—show us your best work
  • Track record managing teams and complex, multi-course projects with tight deadlines
  • Deep expertise in learning theory, assessment design, accessibility compliance, and LMS platforms
  • Ability to balance pedagogical excellence with operational efficiency
  • Experience creating processes, dashboards, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally 20-30% of the time
