Job Overview

Mindpool Technologies is a dynamic organization seeking a seasoned expert to spearhead our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions. As a key member of our cloud engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing OCI projects.

  • Develop comprehensive OCI migration plans, encompassing design, implementation, and testing
  • Administer OCI virtualization systems using native Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, perform analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Create and decommission systems as part of administration activities
  • Collaborate with application, server, and database engineers to troubleshoot complex issues, perform tuning, and scaling activities
  • Assist with migrating environments across datacenters and drive cloud-based initiatives forward
  • Ensure systems maintenance, system upgrades, infrastructure design, DR design, hypervisor installation, and maintenance, physical to virtual migrations, and server hardening
  • Deliver user training on applications and OS fundamentals for virtual infrastructure within OCI
  • OCI-C to OCI experience is essential
  • Minimum 5 years of cloud engineering experience with Oracle Public Cloud (OCI)
  • OCI certified associate architect/professional is a must
Desired Skills:
  • Cloud Migration - Experience with migrating on-premise to cloud, specifically OCI, other cloud experience seen as a plus
  • Scripting - Ability to automate migration and standard tasks via scripting when required
  • Integration Architecture - Understanding of how to integrate data into IT architecture, specifically OCI Databases and Big Data, and understanding concepts related to data migration and infrastructure setup in OCI
  • Networking - Demonstrated experience using VLANs, troubleshooting tools such as ip, netstat, ssh, and telnet, and system hardening using firewalld/iptables and hosts.allow
  • Operating Systems – Strong grasp of Linux and Linux-based hypervisor technologies such as XEN, KVM, etc., Windows Server-based operating systems experience a plus
  • User Management - Ability to manage large user pools through the command line, understanding userID and groupID management in Linux systems, and fundamental knowledge of directory services for Linux
  • System Hardening - Familiarity with DISA STIG or its equivalent, and ability to demonstrate experience in system hardening and auditing Linux and Linux-based systems
  • Virtualization - Demonstrated ability using VMWare, Oracle VM, and KVM hypervisors, and maintaining and building systems from templates or scratch
  • Storage - Understanding of SAN/storage concepts (LUNs, HBAs), logical volume management (LVM) & NFS, FC, iSCSI, and utilizing these at the OS level
  • Teamwork/Communication - Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills, and ability to analyze and solve complex problems, including designing, documenting, and writing deliverable plans for enterprise implementations
  • A can-do attitude and at least 5 years related experience in cloud-related technologies, with a recent focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure based technologies in IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS-based solutions, extensive experience working in other clouds a huge plus
