About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure that our data is reliable, scalable, and accessible. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data warehousing, data processing, and cloud computing, with specific expertise in GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Spanner. You will be instrumental in building and optimizing our data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using GCP services such as Dataflow and Dataproc.
  • Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes using BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data models and schemas.
  • Automate data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of data engineering standards.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Spanner.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools, such as Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
