Role Summary

We're looking for a Project Engineer who can own and drive the development of rocket systems from planning and coordination to execution and delivery. This role demands a technical leader who can juggle multiple hats, guide cross-functional teams, and make bold decisions to push projects forward.

You'll be at the intersection of engineering, management, and leadership, ensuring that every phase of rocket development is executed with precision and speed.

Key Responsibilities

● Plan, schedule, and monitor engineering workflows and project milestones across mechanical, propulsion, avionics, structures, and integration teams.

● Coordinate across departments, including design, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure timely project execution.

● Lead multidisciplinary team,s including junior engineers, interns, and vendor,s keeping everyone aligned toward mission goals.

● Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

● Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.

● Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status.

● Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

● Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.

● Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope.

● Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.

● Identify bottlenecks and propose creative solutions in a fast-moving startup environment.

● Drive reviews, testing phases, and integration checkpoints to ensure launch readiness.

● Act as the central point of communication between leadership, engineers, vendors, and collaborators.

● Occasionally step into hands-on roles from testing components to sourcing parts when needed.

● Excellent communicator who can simplify complexity and keep teams motivated.

● Passionate about aerospace, rockets, and building systems that fly.

Qualifications

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

● Strong understanding of systems engineering, propulsion, structures, avionics, or GNC systems.

● 2+ years of relevant project engineering or program management experience (internship/project experience in aerospace will also be considered for exceptional candidates).

● Prior experience in rocket or satellite projects is a big plus.

● Familiarity with PM tools is desirable.

● Bonus: Experience in a startup, student rocketry team, or hands-on prototyping environment.
