About the Role

We are seeking a
highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA)
to manage, optimize, and scale our database systems across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with
MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
, and exposure to distributed databases like
Scylla, Cassandra, and TiDB
.

The DBA will play a key role in
migrating data from Azure/AWS to GCP
with
minimal to zero downtime
, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. This role requires an individual who thrives in fast-paced, cloud-driven environments and has a passion for automation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize
  MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
  databases in production and staging environments.
• Plan, execute, and validate
  data migrations from Azure/AWS to GCP
  using tools such as
  AWS DMS, GCP Data Migration Service
  , or equivalent solutions with a
  focus on zero downtime
  .
• Design, implement, and manage
  replication, clustering, and high-availability architectures
  .
• Troubleshoot complex performance, replication, and connectivity issues across multi-cloud environments.
• Implement
  backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
  across all managed databases.
• Develop and maintain
  automation scripts
  using
  Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python
  to streamline operational and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure databases are secure, highly available, and meet performance SLAs.
• Monitor and tune databases for performance optimization using advanced profiling and observability tools.
• Maintain proper
  documentation, version control, and audit trails
  for database configurations and changes.
• Participate in
  on-call rotations
  and provide timely support for critical production incidents.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10 years
  of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong expertise in
  MySQL (5.7/8.0)
  and
  PostgreSQL (9.x/13/15)
  , including replication, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience managing
  Redis
  and
  MongoDB
  clusters in production environments.
• Good to have: exposure to
  ScyllaDB, Cassandra
  , or
  TiDB
  .
• Demonstrated experience in
  data migration
  projects from
  AWS to GCP
  using
  DMS or other ETL tools
  , with
  zero or minimal downtime
  .
• Excellent knowledge of
  Linux systems
  (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, or Ubuntu) and strong command over
  networking fundamentals
  (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, etc.).
• Strong scripting and automation experience using
  Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python
  .
• Working knowledge of
  cloud platforms
  (AWS Azure and GCP) including networking, IAM, and storage services.
• Proficient in
  database security, encryption, and access control mechanisms
  .
• Hands-on experience with
  monitoring tools
  such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in
  AWS/Azure/GCP Database Engineer
  .
• Good to have:
  Terraform
  or
  CloudFormation
  for infrastructure-as-code.
• Exposure to
  Kubernetes
  and database operators (e.g., CrunchyData, Percona Operator, etc.).
• Familiarity with
  high-traffic, low-latency application environments
  .
