Job Purpose

The Laser Welding Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining laser welding cells to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of EV components. The role requires adherence to standard operating procedures, quality assurance checks, and safety guidelines while supporting SVMs vision of sustainable mobility and world-class manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

  • Load raw materials/parts into laser weld cells and initiate machine start-up procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain weld cell components, automation systems, and part feeders.
  • Conduct job changeovers and basic equipment adjustments as per work instructions.
  • Ensure seamless material flow and report any operational issues promptly.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform in-process inspections and quality checks to maintain 100% defect-free output
  • Record QA checks and maintain accurate production logs.
  • Monitor camera software, sensors, and automation tools for functionality and errors.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Operate forklift and material handling equipment (after certification) safely.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors for process and quality improvements.
  • Participate in skill enhancement and training programs.
