Tradeweb is looking for a trade surveillance officer, based in Bengaluru, to provide trade surveillance coverage across Tradeweb's European trading venues.
The European trade surveillance team monitors and analyses the trading activity of all participants across the Tradeweb European platform. Surveillance utilises and develops electronic tools and integrative techniques to detect potential and/or actual violations of regulatory requirements, and works in close partnership with the wider Compliance team, Technology, Business Managers and various groups across the firm to ensure that Tradeweb's markets remain clean and orderly.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a team-player, have a good investigative instincts, be confident handling and analysing data, and focused on executing daily procedures across products and markets with a close attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Trade Surveillance
- Ensure daily execution of internal procedures designed to ensure that our European markets remain fair and orderly;
- In particular, using the systems available to us, monitor daily order and trade activity to identify behaviour which may be indicative of market abuse, or other behaviour which may damage the integrity of the markets;
Conduct thematic reviews pertaining to potential incidences market abuse and disorderly markets;
Use results to recommend how to develop our surveillance system, recommend protocol updates and determine whether further escalation is appropriate;
- Escalate reasonable suspicions, as appropriate, to the Head of Surveillance, together with appropriate analysis and recommendations;
- Take forward and deliver on agreed actions, including preparing and submitting reports and or STORs to appropriate regulatory bodies, notably the FCA and / or AFM;
Skills / Attributes
You will have some trade surveillance and / or data analytics experience ideally gained in brokerages, securities trading, regulator or exchange environments;
You will have an understanding of the UK and EU Market Abuse Regulations and the policy objectives, and the drive to become a subject matter expert;
This is an organic role, requiring dedication, flexibility, and commitment to adhere to (and improve, where necessary) trade surveillance procedures;
You will need to be detail oriented, a team-player and be comfortable working across products and borders, and to support our International agenda;
You must be able to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group including senior business leaders and corporate function managers;
You will need to have a dedication to maintaining and continuously influencing good corporate culture and ethics, be a self-starter, and be able to work independently.
