Job Description:

A Travel Consultant assists clients in planning, organising, and booking their travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodation, tours, and activities. We provide expert advice on destinations, travel requirements, and itineraries while ensuring the best value and experience for the clients. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and up-to-date knowledge of travel trends and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on travel options, destinations, and packages based on their needs and preferences.
  • Arrange and book transportation (flights, trains, car rentals) and accommodation.
  • Create customised travel itineraries, including tours, activities, and excursions.
  • Provide information on travel regulations, visas, insurance, and health requirements.
  • Handle changes, cancellations, and emergencies during clients' trips.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel products, services, and industry trends.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best rates and deals.
  • Process payments, issue tickets, and manage booking documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.

Typical Tasks:

  • Research and recommend destinations, hotels, and travel experiences.
  • Prepare detailed travel itineraries and quotes.
  • Book flights, hotels, transportation, and excursions.
  • Update clients about changes in travel schedules or conditions.
  • Assist clients with travel documentation and visa applications.
  • Handle complaints or problems during or after travel.
  • Communicate with airlines, hotels, and tour operators on behalf of clients.
  • Follow up with clients after their trip to gather feedback and plan for future trips.
  • Maintain client records and update travel preferences for future reference.
  • Stay informed about global events that may affect travel plans.
