About the teamThe Instructional Designer at Kinaxis is pivotal in shaping and delivering high-quality, engaging learning experiences that will make our customers successful on our platform. In collaboration with other key business units, this individual will design and develop new, personalized training offerings for the various roles that exist in our ecosystem. Our Instructional Designer ensures that learning experiences for our global customers are visually engaging, intuitive, and consistent with our brand standards.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Education, our Instructional Designer will play a key role in creating engaging and interactive content for our online learning platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong instructional design skills, and experience in developing digital learning content in a variety of formats.
What you will do
- Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and delivering high-quality learning solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, and other members of the training and enablement team, to create engaging and effective training courses using instructional design methodologies and emerging technologies.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and performance objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine training requirements and desired outcomes.
- Design and develop innovative and interactive learning experiences using instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and best practices. Create engaging learning materials such as eLearning modules, videos, simulations, and job aids.
- Adhere to established standards, templates, and terminology.
- Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or a design-related field (graphic design, visual communication, etc.).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or eLearning development, preferably in the SaaS or technology industry.
- Strong instructional design skills, with experience designing and developing online learning materials using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Synthesia and other similar AI software.
- Strong multimedia and visual composition skills: layout, color, hierarchy, and accessibility.
- Familiar with user experience principles of design and design thinking.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and Hands on Lab (HOL) systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in instructional design.
