Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise in identification of process improvement and automation opportunities
  • Configuration and maintaining WAF, IPS & DDOS solutions.
  • Create WAF rules/signatures to mitigate threats and implements.
  • Create the policy for the new on boarding applications.
  • Create advanced alerts/reports to meet the requirements of key stakeholders.
  • Share the blocked request details. Based on application team request, tuning WAF policies, applying IPS signatures.
  • Participate in all the drill activity and check the traffic and ensure the status.
  • Worked on the onboarding of new sites stage, prod instances behind WAF.
  • WAF rule finetuning based on OWASP, new rule addition/deletion for suppressing false positives, coordinating with various teams to fix any security flaw which could not be fixed in application.
  • CDN fine tuning for better performance, multiple origin configuration, redirects, rewrites, cert issue.
  • Provide direct front line incident support and management, working with internal and external customers as well as vendors when needed
  • Monitor the network and security systems within a global multi-region, multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, & etc.) and on premises environment. Includes Checkpoint and Cisco FWs, DDoS, Sky High proxy, Trellix and Checkpoint IPS appliances, Incapsula WAFs and more.
  • Document process and issues with tools like Confluence, Service Now and Lucid Charts
  • Research, evaluate and stay ahead of curve on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies
  • Maintain technical knowledge of Network security and Cloud technologies
  • Continually assess and make recommendations to ensure our portfolio of tools provide us with the ability to maintain streamlined and efficient support of our global estate

  • 5+ years of validated experience in managing, provisioning, and designing network technologies in a large globally diverse environment
  • Experience with ITIL incident, problem & change management
  • Experience as a technical leader and as a mentor to the more junior staff members
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment in complex, high pressure situations
  • Proven ability to create and establish processes, documentation, and automations required to effectively hand-off between teams
  • Problem solving mentality using internal and/or external resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as NNMi, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, Dynatrace and Extrahop
  • Experience with DDoS mitigation services
  • Experience with stateful firewalls (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortigate) and packet inspection techniques
  • Understanding of commonly deployed WAN technologies and concepts – P2P, MPLS, VRF, Wave, SDWAN, WAN Optimization..
