The mission of the Cloud ERP Private Product Management team is to serve our large installed base of customers on their transformation journeys into the private cloud and grow SAP s core business as a market leader. We work hand-in-hand with our engineering and product marketing teams, as well as with our customers and partners on continuously improving our Cloud ERP Private offering. Product Management is the authoritative voice of the legitimate challenges customers face, evangelizing an outcome-based product vision and roadmap that truly solves customer pain points by creating products that delight, and serve the needs of SAP. Within the product management cross team we are responsible for driving the most strategic topics across our Cloud ERP Private portfolio and supporting our largest and most influential customers to ensure swift adoption.
The Role
You will be a senior authority for AI in Cloud ERP Private, setting vision, architecture, and execution for how we infuse trustworthy, high impact AI into our products and operations. You will combine hands-on technical depth with executive influence to shape strategy, cultivate an ecosystem of partners, and deliver production-grade AI capabilities that measurably improve customer outcomes and business performance. Specifically:
- Serve as the Chief Expert for AI across Cloud ERP Private, advising senior leadership and steering cross portfolio decisions.
- Define, socialize, and execute the multi year AI strategy and roadmap, including platform, product, and operational workstreams.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize high value AI use cases end to end (business value, feasibility, risk, and time to impact), and drive them from concept to scaled adoption.
- Evolve the AI operating model, including intake and portfolio governance, architectural standards, playbooks, evaluation frameworks, and SDLC/MLOps integration.
- Lead strategic evaluation and selection of third party foundation models, cloud AI services, and open source components; negotiate and manage long term partnerships and licensing.
- Provide technical leadership for LLMs and agentic systems (prompting, fine tuning, tool use, RAG, guardrails, observability, cost/perf optimization)
- Act as an expert on demand for our high performing team of AI Experts and AI Developers; establish communities of practice and enablement programs across engineering and product.
- Drive thought leadership in enterprise agentic AI through patents, open source contributions, conference talks, and publications.
- Establish and enforce responsible AI governance: policies, risk management, privacy, security, safety, model evaluation, and audit readiness in alignment with global regulations.
- Lead AI change management and enablement for product, engineering, services, and go to market teams; create training, playbooks, and adoption programs for customers and partners.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Customer Success to define value hypotheses, success metrics, packaging, and commercial models for AI capabilities.
- Represent Cloud ERP Private in executive forums, customer briefings, standards bodies, and the broader AI ecosystem.
Role Requirements and Work Experience
- In-depth knowledge of SAP s AI portfolio
- Change Management & Customer Success: Proven success in guiding organizations through impactful digital transformations and leading change management initiatives to support adoption.
- Cross Industry Expertise / Exposure: cross industry expertise with a deep knowledge in at least one industry.
- Proven competencies and strong domain background in the areas of Cloud ERP software
- Excellent analytical skills combined with proven experience in working on complex topics.
- Strong communication skills with the customers, partners and executive level stakeholders, internal functions like engineering, user experience and product marketing.
- Very good teamplayer, good networking skills and driver mentalit with strong business acumen and outcome-driven mindset.
- Passion for technology, innovation, and user-centric product development, with demonstrable success in previous positions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (C1 Level) in English is a must.
- 15+ years relevant work experience in software industry preferably in Product Management, Product Engineering or Product Marketing
- Master s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or PhD degree is a plus.
