Job Description:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for printing and packaging jobs, covering raw materials, processes, and labour.
  • Analyse material consumption norms and machine efficiencies to ensure accurate costing and reduce wastage.
  • Evaluate printing and finishing processes (offset, flexo, digital, screen, lamination, die-cutting, pasting, etc.) to determine the most cost-effective production method.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for outsourced processes such as lamination, UV, foiling, embossing, and varnishing to secure competitive rates.
  • Provide pricing support to the Sales team by preparing quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
  • Maintain and regularly update a costing database of material prices, process rates, and labour charges.
  • Track actual vs. estimated costs, analyse variances, and recommend corrective or cost-saving actions.
  • Work closely with Production and Procurement teams to control expenses and improve cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through material optimization and process improvement.
  • Generate costing, variance, and profitability reports for management review.
