Job Description
Tencys is seeking a skilled and proactive
Senior Data Engineer
to join our
Cognitron
team. You will lead the development and delivery of business intelligence and data engineering solutions using the
Microsoft Analytics Stack
, including
Azure Data Factory
,
Databricks
,
Synapse
, and
Fabric
. You'll work closely with stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and insightful data solutions that drive strategic decision-making.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable data analytics solutions using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Fabric.
  • Participate in architectural design and contribute to system-level decisions for data pipelines and platforms.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data platform technologies and ensure data quality, integrity, and performance.
  • Apply data warehouse and lakehouse methodologies, including medallion architecture.
  • Conduct data profiling, anomaly detection, and dimensional data modeling (Kimball).
  • Implement DevOps and CI/CD practices to support efficient deployment and integration.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and progress tracking.

Basic Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in data engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and preferably Microsoft Fabric.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling (dimensional/Kimball).
  • Experience in building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and working with large-scale datasets.
  • Familiarity with data lakehouse and data warehouse design principles.
  • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile engineering practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage directly with clients.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certification: Azure Data Engineer Associate or similar.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to AI/ML pipelines or advanced analytics in Azure.
  • Experience working in global delivery or consulting environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and compliance standards.
