Job Description Senior Accountant

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, audits, budgeting, and internal controls while guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Handle general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and audits.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial data accuracy.
  • Supervise and guide junior accountants or accounting staff.
  • Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reports.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters or CA/CPA preferred).
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant / Senior Accountant (5+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, MIS reporting).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and team management abilities.
