Key Competencies:

  1. Accounting competency:
    Must have accounting concepts proficiency. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing highly efficient accounting policies and SOPs and U.S. GAAP; including system implementations or conversions. "Individual contributor" mindset with ability to push back on other Accounting Team Members for making adjustments.
  2. Reporting competency:
    Must have competency in preparing financial statements - understanding of financial statement positioning of significant accounting transactions reporting package, (balance sheet, income statement, and statements of cash flow) including review of consolidation and supporting audit worksheets.
  3. Technical competency:
    Must have experience for owning reporting processes, balance sheet reconciliations / roll-forwards, financial statement fluctuations, questioning transactions for accuracy.
  4. Systems competency:
    Systems proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable software package. Demonstrate knowledge by taking systemically-generated trial balance through production / mapping to financial statements (balance sheet and P&L). Test of knowledge includes understanding of lead sheets and structuring charts of accounts.

Experience:

  1. Candidates must hold a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification to be eligible.
  2. Experience with monthly / recurring / closing journal entries and financial statements - demonstrated by a close calendar walkthrough.
  3. Minimum of 7 to 10 years' relevant operational accounting experience with a mixture of different industry experience (gaming experience is a plus, but not required).
  4. Minimum of 5 years working with external and / or internal auditors (knowing when to push back on auditors when needed, for instance - volume of audit samples).
  5. 7 to 10 years' experience as a Senior Accountant position - with mid-cap ($200 million to $500 million annual revenue), or larger companies.
  6. Stability of employment relationships demonstrated by 1.5 to 2-years at each employer.
  7. CPA preferred, but not required.
  8. Knowledge of NetSuite or other comparable general ledger systems.
  9. Public accounting experience and / or knowledge of corporate / business and income taxes is a plus.
