About the Role:

We are seeking a Python Developer with a strong background in security, data warehousing, and big data technologies to join our team in building an advanced open data platform. As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with the Security Architect, to design, develop, and implement security solutions, leveraging your expertise in data warehousing and big data processing with Apache Flink, Apache Spark, and Apache Iceberg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Python-based applications and services that form the backbone of our platform.

  • Integrate data from various security sources, including SIEMs, EDRs, and network monitoring tools, into a centralized data warehouse.

  • Design and implement data processing pipelines using Apache Flink and Apache Spark to handle real-time and batch data processing for security analytics.

  • Develop ETL processes, data models, and schemas to optimize data storage and retrieval in the platform.

  • Collaborate with the security architect to define and implement APIs, microservices, and other backend components.

  • Ensure code quality and platform performance through best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.

  • Contribute to the platforms security posture by incorporating secure coding practices and performing vulnerability assessments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as Flask or Django.

  • Extensive experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and working with large datasets.

  • Proficiency in big data technologies, particularly Apache Flink and Apache Spark, for real-time and batch data processing.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and tools, including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat detection.

  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and data integration techniques.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in security and data processing contexts.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Workflow orchestration tools: Airflow, Cadence, Argo Workflows, Prefect, Dagster

  • Async Python: asyncio, FastAPI, Trio, Quart

  • Task queues: Celery, RQ, Dramatiq

  • Distributed systems & microservices: Clear evidence they've built backend systems with state, retries, queues

  • Event-driven architectures: Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or event sourcing experience
