About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic Sales & Business Development professional with hands-on experience in working with Indian Railways, specifically within the Electrical Division. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Energy Meters, Smart Meters, IoT devices, Solar products and related electrical products, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop business opportunities within Indian Railways (Zonal Railways & Divisional Offices)
- Drive sales of Energy Meters, Smart Meters, Solar and electrical monitoring solutions
- Manage end-to-end tendering process bids, documentation, technical submission, followups
- Maintain and build strong relationships with Railway decisionmakers and procurement teams
- Coordinate product demonstrations, pilot deployments, and technical presentations
- Monitor upcoming railway tenders, procurement plans, and vendor registration processes
- Work closely with internal technical & product teams to align solutions with Railway requirements
- Track competition and provide market intelligence updates
- Support pricing, negotiation, and contract closure efforts
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5-7 years of experience in Sales/Business Development in the Electrical/Smart Metering domain
- Mandatory experience dealing with Indian Railways procurement and technical departments
- Strong knowledge of Energy Meters, Smart Meters, and communication technologies (RF, GPRS, IoT, LoRa, etc.)
- Good understanding of Railway tendering and vendor registration processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to independently handle Railway accounts and drive business targets
Preferred
- Prior vendor registration or execution experience with Railways
- Experience in working with companies or system integrators serving Railways
- Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or related field
