In our BPS Tax team you'll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. Your role will include:

The Assistant Manager– Payroll Solutions will play a pivotal role in driving payroll transformation engagements with clients. This role requires deep expertise in Global Payroll Delivery to join our payroll operations team supporting the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing payrolls across multiple EMEA countries — particularly UK, Cyprus, Germany, and Spain — with a deep understanding of local statutory and compliance frameworks. The individual will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll delivery while working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing & Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations for assigned EMEA countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

  • Process payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, variable payments, and statutory adjustments.
  • Coordinate with in-country partners and vendors to validate payroll results and reports.
  • Conduct thorough payroll reconciliations and ensure issue-free sign-offs.

  • Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory, tax, and social security regulations across EMEA markets.

  • Ensure payroll compliance with country-specific laws and internal controls.
  • Prepare audit documentation and respond to internal/external audit requirements.

  • Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with client stakeholders for payroll inputs, approvals, and query resolution.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll queries for assigned countries.
  • Build strong working relationships with client HR, finance, and local vendor teams.

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate manual activities, and enhance data quality.

  • Participate in payroll transition and system implementation projects.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and standardization across the global payroll delivery team.

Desired qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in EMEA payroll delivery — preferably managing multiple countries.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll (HMRC, RTI, P45/P60, pension auto-enrolment) and exposure to Cyprus, Germany, Spain or other EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Experience working with global payroll aggregators or in-country vendors.
  • Familiarity with payroll tools such as ADP, Safeguard, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reconciliation and compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional European languages will be an advantage).
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual, cross-cultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a shared services or multi-country payroll outsourcing environment.
  • Knowledge of global mobility payroll and shadow payroll processes.
  • Exposure to data privacy regulations (GDPR).
