About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Automobile Maintenance Manager with a strong background in Steel and Power Sector and the maintenance of heavy industrial vehicles. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing maintenance teams, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, and reducing breakdowns across all mining vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the repair, maintenance, and servicing of all vehicles and heavy machinery used in mining operations.
  • Manage and lead a team of mechanics, fitters, and technicians to ensure smooth and timely maintenance operations.
  • Manage procurements and spare part requirements.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and breakdowns.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inventory of spare parts, and cost control records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
  • Monitor performance and availability of key mining equipment such as:
  • Tippers, Loaders, Excavators, Cranes, Hydra, Dump Trucks, Dozers, Graders, and other HEMMs.
  • Coordinate with the operations and logistics departments to ensure equipment availability for production targets.
  • Identify and resolve recurring technical issues through root cause analysis and process improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10–15 years of hands-on experience in heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine systems.
  • Ability to manage a large maintenance team and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning, spare management, and vendor coordination.
