Job Title: Mechanical Design Draftsman

Location: Andheri, Mumbai

Salary Range: 6 to 7 LPA

Experience: 3 to 6 years (preferred)

Qualification: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering & Drafting

  • Prepare Basic GA and detailed engineering drawings for project-specific requirements.
  • Generate BOQs from 2D/3D piping layouts, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Interpret and work with project drawings including P&ID, piping layouts, and equipment GAs.
  • Handle equipment GA drawings (pumps, blowers, instruments) to ensure correct mounting and nozzle orientation.
  • Create and detail cable tray routing drawings for mechanical and electrical integration.

Standards & Compliance

  • Maintain and update design data bank in line with current market and industry standards.
  • Ensure documentation and drawing processes comply with internal audits and external project requirements.
  • Produce error-free and timely drawings/BOQs to support project execution and procurement.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate effectively with civil, procurement, and project execution teams for timely deliverables.
  • Follow departmental goals and monitor supplier and input/output data flow.
  • Work in alignment with ISO procedures and company systems.

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in 2D drafting, piping isometrics, and equipment GA drawings.
  • Experience in BOQ preparation from design layouts.

  • Good knowledge of codes & standards such as:

  • ASME Section VIII Div 1

  • IS Codes, ASTM, and piping standards

  • Familiarity with 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, etc.) is an added advantage.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
