Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface (SPOC) between MGD and the PMU team, ensuring smooth coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Lead the overall program management, monitoring of timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance across the engagement.
  • Undertake a detailed assessment of the current mining ecosystem, mining policies, regulatory practices, and field- level operations.
  • Guide the development of the strategic roadmap for institutional strengthening, governance reforms, sustainable mining practices, and social safeguards.
  • Oversee benchmarking studies related to national and international best practices in the mining sector.
  • Provide advisory inputs on policy matters, responsible mining, and sustainable resource management.
  • Facilitate risk identification, issue resolution, and change management activities.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of reports, roadmaps, and other deliverables.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives within MGD and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Facilitate the implementation readiness phase, including

support during the RFP and bid process management if required.

Experience :-

  • Proven experience in working on mineral policy, mining governance, regulatory frameworks, or project advisory roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling both major and minor minerals, including familiarity with the specific regulatory and operational nuances associated with each.
  • Experience in managing or contributing to technology- driven mining initiatives, mining governance reforms, or sustainability programs.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with mining programs.
  • Well-versed in industry best practices and international standards related to mining operations and governance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively, demonstrating strong coordination across departments, technical teams, and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government agencies, private sector players, and community representatives.

Qualification

Mandatory

  • Graduate degree in Mining Engineering or Geology or any allied field from a recognized university.
  • 12+ years of overall professional experience with at least 5 years in the mining sector.

Desirable

  • Post-Graduate degree in Mining/ Geology/ Mining/ Environmental Studies
  • MBA
  • Prior Government experience
