Job Description
A Senior Engineer Quality (QMS) for Quality Management System roles in the automotive sector is responsible for developing, maintaining, and auditing the companys QMS processes in line with international standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.), leading audits, and driving continuous improvement of quality performance.
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001/IATF 16949 or equivalent standards.
- Coordinate and conduct internal and supplier audits; interface with customers and certification bodies during audits.
- Develop and update quality procedures, manuals, work instructions, and control plans tailored to organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Guide cross-functional teams in root cause analysis, corrective & preventive action (CAPA), and process improvement initiatives.
- Train staff on quality concepts, QMS requirements, and quality culture enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain QMS documentation and quality records (procedures, SOPs, inspection plans).
- Organize and manage plants audit schedule; conduct and lead audits, report findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor, analyze, and report quality metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformities; lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry/customer quality standards (ISO, IATF, customer-specific requirements).
- Facilitate training on quality system policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Coordinate and support new product and process introductions from a quality perspective.
- Interface with engineering, production, procurement, and suppliers to ensure quality targets and compliance are met.
