Job Title:

FPGA / Embedded Firmware Engineer – Satellite IP Demodulator

Summary

Design and implement FPGA logic and embedded firmware for a next-generation multi-channel L-band IP demodulator. Work spans RTL design, high-speed digital interfaces, embedded C/RTOS, and network protocol integration.

Responsibilities


• Develop and verify FPGA RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL) for DDC, timing/carrier recovery, demapper, LDPC/TPC FEC, and high-speed interfaces (ADC, AXI DMA).


• Write and maintain embedded firmware (C/FreeRTOS or Embedded Linux) for device drivers, DMA, packetization (UDP/RTP/IGMP), and SNMP/Web management.


• Design and document AXI register maps shared between FPGA and firmware.


• Integrate and test full demodulator chain on hardware, including BER/Eb/No validation and real-time telemetry.


• Collaborate with RF/analog engineers on LNB power, 10 MHz reference injection, and thermal management.


• Use GitLab/GitHub CI for build automation and hardware-in-loop testing.

Required Skills


• Strong Verilog / SystemVerilog and FPGA toolchain experience (Xilinx Vivado or equivalent).


• Hands-on AXI/AXI-Stream/DMA and timing closure (CDC, STA).


• Proficiency in C for embedded/RTOS development; experience with UART/SPI/I2C and network stacks.


• Understanding of digital communications (BPSK/QPSK/8PSK, LDPC/TPC FEC).


• Familiar with debugging tools (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, ILA/VIO) and Git-based workflows.

Nice to Have


• Satellite modem or RF front-end experience.


• lwIP/Zephyr, header compression (ROHC/IPHC).


• Python for automated hardware testing.

Education / Experience


• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics/ECE/Embedded Systems or equivalent.


• 1–5 years of FPGA/embedded design experience (exceptional fresh graduates with strong project portfolios considered).
