Job Description:

  • Operating and maintaining lathe machines:
    Setting up, operating, and adjusting lathe machines to create various parts, often according to technical drawings. 


  • Reading and interpreting blueprints:
    Understanding technical drawings to determine required dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications. 


  • Selecting tools and materials:
    Choosing the correct cutting tools, speeds, and materials for specific machining tasks. 


  • Monitoring machine operation:
    Observing the lathe machine during operation to ensure it's functioning correctly and making adjustments as needed. 


  • Inspecting finished parts:
    Assessing the quality and accuracy of machined parts to ensure they meet specifications. 


  • Performing routine maintenance:
    Maintaining the lathe machine, including oiling, cleaning, and minor repairs. 


  • Collaborating with other teams:
    Working with engineers, quality control, and production teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to project timelines. 


  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving:
    Identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the machining process. 


  • Following safety procedures:
    Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines when operating the lathe machine. 


  • Documenting production data:
    Keeping records of production runs, including material used, tools employed, and adjustments made.
