Role Description

We are seeking skilled and experienced corporate insurance underwriters to join our

growing team at PIB Insurance Brokers. This role requires a deep understanding of

underwriting principles, market risk evaluation, and policy structuring across various

commercial insurance lines.

You will be responsible for independently assessing risks, pricing, and managing

underwriting decisions while working closely with sales, placement, and client servicing

teams across industry segments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset,

commercial acumen, and client-handling maturity.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing insurance broking startup that

is expanding operations across 20+ cities in India.

Key Responsibilities:

 Independently evaluate and underwrite complex corporate risks related to Group

Health, Fire, Marine, Engineering, Property, Liability, and other general

insurance lines

 Analyse proposal forms, risk presentations, claims history, and relevant

documentation to determine suitable coverage and pricing

 Prepare detailed underwriting notes, coverage suggestions, and documentation for

insurer approvals

 Collaborate with sales, placement, and client servicing teams to build tailor-made

solutions for corporate clients

 Lead technical discussions with insurers, clients, and internal stakeholders for large

and mid-market accounts

 Stay updated on IRDAI regulations, insurer guidelines, market trends, and reinsurance

practices

 Support the creation of product notes, documentation SOPs, and compliance reports

 Mentor junior team members or fresh underwriters (optional for senior profiles)

Required Qualifications & Skills:

 Bachelor's/Master's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Commerce/Finance

 IRDAI certifications (Licentiate/Associate/Fellow) preferred

 Minimum 3 years to 12 years of experience in corporate insurance underwriting

 Deep domain knowledge of general insurance and risk pricing of the following:

o Group Health Insurance

o Fire and Property Insurance

o Marine, Engineering, or Liability Insurance

 Strong negotiation, decision-making, and risk assessment skills

 Excellent written and verbal communication

 Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and familiarity with underwriting portals/tools
