Senior Site Engineer

Position Overview

The Senior Site Engineer plays a critical role in the successful execution of real estate development projects. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with design specifications. Acting as the bridge between the Project Manager, contractors, consultants, and site workers, the Senior Site Engineer ensures that all activities are aligned with the project plan and timelines.

With over a decade of experience, the Senior Site Engineer is expected to demonstrate advanced technical expertise in civil engineering, excellent leadership capabilities, and the ability to resolve complex challenges on-site. This role involves managing site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors while maintaining strict adherence to budgetary and time constraints. The Senior Site Engineer ensures that the organizations standards for quality construction are consistently maintained, and that clients expectations are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, and contractors, ensuring alignment with design intent.
• Conduct site inspections regularly to monitor progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective measures promptly.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, quality control processes, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, and MEP specialists to resolve design and execution-related issues.
• Ensure proper allocation of resources including manpower, equipment, and materials for optimal site performance.
• Maintain detailed site records including daily progress reports, material consumption logs, and manpower deployment charts.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Review and validate bar bending schedules, shuttering requirements, concrete works, and finishing works.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on materials delivered to the site, ensuring compliance with approved specifications.
• Resolve technical challenges and site-related conflicts while maintaining project timelines.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across all site operations.
• Assist in preparing work schedules, progress charts, and project status updates for management.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and technical competency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate construction projects, with exposure to high-rise residential or commercial developments.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, quality standards, and project execution processes.
• Strong expertise in structural works, finishing works, and MEP coordination.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, contracts, and technical documents accurately.
• Skilled in using project management and construction tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Primavera.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on timely execution.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for coordination with multiple stakeholders.
