We have urgent opening for Head Contracts & Procurement in Mumbai with one of well known 5 star hotel.

Role & responsibilities

The Head of Procurement & Contracts is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and executing procurement and contract management strategies for all hotel and mixed-use development projects. This role ensures cost efficiency, transparency, and timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and governance.

The incumbent will lead centralized procurement for both project materials and services (civil, MEP, interiors, FF&E, OS&E) and manage the entire contract lifecycle from tendering to award and closure.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and business goals.
  • Establish centralized procurement processes for all projectsGreenfield, Brownfield, and Refurbishment.
  • Identify and prequalify vendors, consultants, and contractors across categories.
  • Drive category management and leverage economies of scale through strategic sourcing and annual rate contracts.

Contracts & Commercial Management

  • Lead contract formulation, tendering, negotiation, and award for consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure risk mitigation through robust contract structures, clear scope definitions, and fair commercial terms.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolutions in collaboration with legal and project teams.
  • Monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with scope, quality, cost, and timelines.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring transparency and ethical practices.
  • Implement vendor evaluation and performance tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, project management, and finance teams for seamless coordination.

Governance, Systems & Controls

  • Establish procurement policies, SOPs, and internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
  • Implement technology-driven procurement systems (ERP, e-tendering, contract management tools).
  • Drive data-driven decision-making through procurement dashboards and MIS reports.

Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering studies across project phases.
  • Benchmark material and service costs periodically to ensure market competitiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: BE/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical Engineering; MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain/Contracts Management preferred.
  • Experience: 25+years of experience in procurement and contracts management within real estate, hospitality, or infrastructure development companies.
  • Proven track record of handling procurement for large-scale hotel, mixed-use, or high-end commercial projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and understanding of FIDIC/industry-standard contract formats.
  • Exposure to FF&E/OS&E procurement for hotels will be an added advantage.
