Role: Agile Scrum Master

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that all Scrum events are effective and productive.
• Mentor and coach team members on Agile values, principles, and practices, helping them to understand their roles and responsibilities within the Scrum framework.
• Work closely with Product Owners/Project Manager to help manage the product backlog, ensuring clarity and prioritization of tasks for the development team.
• Identify and resolve impediments that hinder the team's progress, fostering a supportive environment that encourages open communication and collaboration.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance by promoting collaboration and ensuring that team members are empowered to take ownership of their work.
• Monitor and report on team progress using relevant Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts) and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Drive the team toward continuous improvement by encouraging reflection on processes and practices, and implementing changes as necessary.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance the team's understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies, and promote best practices within the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders outside the team to align on delivery expectations and ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
• Track project progress using Agile tools such as Jira.
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and impediments affecting project execution.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication between business, development, and QA teams.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master.
• Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
• SAFe certification and Kanban certification are a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira , ADO etc
