We're Hiring: Accounts Executive for a shipping company

Location: Mumbai, India

About the role:

The Accounts Executive will handle day-to-day accounting operations, vendor payments, crew wages, and statutory compliances such as TDS, GST, and PF. The role also involves preparing financial summaries, vessel expense reports, and ensuring timely coordination with banks, unions, and Principal companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general accounting entries and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and verify crew wage sheets and coordinate with banks for processing.
  • Handle sign-off Provident Fund (PF) payments for seafarers.
  • Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices.
  • Deduct TDS from vendor payments and submit to tax authorities monthly.
  • Prepare monthly GST summary sheets and forward them for processing.
  • Coordinate with unions and ensure all statutory dues are paid on time.
  • Prepare vessel expense ledgers and share summaries with Principals.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com or equivalent).
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience (marine/shipping industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of TDS, GST, and other statutory compliances.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
