Platform Engineer - Murex

Location:

Business & Team

• Participate as a member of the systems development team with minimal supervision and occasional guidance.
• Contribute to the development of estimation, design, installation, configuration, integration and productionising of information technology system components.
• Ensure rapid, automated and safe deployment of technical solutions and streamline the processes.
• Participate in the assimilation of platforms into their ecosystems, concentrating on all aspects of the stack including hardware and networking, data handling and the flow through to the application and its integration points.

• Focus on non-functional requirements such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability and usability.
• Provide local technical support and assistance to non-technical members of the team.
• Take on support and technical troubleshooting responsibility for production systems.
• Contribute towards continuous improvements for the system and processes.
• Contribute to solution design discussions with wider team.

Roles Responsibilities:

• Oversee MES ASRE activity & maintain Murex env provisioning website.
• Carry out enhancements to maintenance / housekeeping scripts as required and monitor the DB growth periodically.
• Handle cloud Environment preparation, refresh, rebuild, upkeep, maintenance, and upgrade activities.
• Ensure cloud cost optimisation.
• Troubleshoot Murex environment-specific issues including Infrastructure related issues and update pipelines for a permanent fix.
• Handle EOD execution and troubleshoot issues related to it.
• Participate in the release activity and coordinate with QA/Release teams.
• Participate in AWS stack deployment, AWS AMI patching, and stack configuration to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency using CloudFormation, git, CICD pipelines.
• Address ad hoc requests like warehouse rebuild, maintenance, perform health/sanity checks, creating XVA engine, environment restores & backup in AWS as per project need.

Essential Skills:

• 4 to 8 Years experience in Murex.
• Experience in AWS Cloud.
• Mandatory Skills Description:
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer/Solution architect with relevant working experience with CICD tools like Git, GitHub Actions, flows, Ansible, AWS including CDK.
  • Murex environment/support experience.
  • Experienced in Python, Monitoring tools, Web development.
  • Experienced in Release and CICD process.
  • Linux/Unix server and Oracle RDS knowledge.
  • Working experience with automation/job scheduling tools such as Autosys, GitHub Action.
  • Working experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk, Obstack, PagerDuty.
  • Working experience with Cloud technologies on AWS (cloud formation, networking, is highly desirable).
  • Good communication and organisation skills working within a DevOps team supporting a wider IT delivery team.
• Nice to have skills:
  • PL/SQL, Scripting languages (Python and shell scripting).
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with Shell scripting and Python.
  • AWS Cloud specific troubleshooting.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelors degree/Masters degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
