Job Description:

A CCM Fitter (SMS) in a Steel Melting Shop (SMS) is responsible for the fitting, assembly, and maintenance of mechanical components within the continuous casting machine (CCM) and other equipment in the steelmaking process. They work with various tools and machinery to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the SMS and CCM. 

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Fitting and Assembly:
  Assembling and fitting mechanical parts, components, and sub-assemblies according to technical drawings and specifications. 
  
  
• 
  Maintenance and Repair:
  Performing both preventive and breakdown maintenance on machinery and equipment in the SMS, including pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems. 
  
  
• 
  Troubleshooting:
  Identifying and resolving mechanical issues and breakdowns in the CCM and related equipment. 
  
  
• 
  Record Keeping:
  Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. 
  
  
• 
  Safety Compliance:
  Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 
  
  
• 
  Collaboration:
  Working with other teams, including electricians and production personnel, to coordinate maintenance and repair activities. 
  
  
• 
  Continuous Improvement:
  Participating in activities aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of the SMS and CCM. 
  
  

Specific tasks may include:

• Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using various tools and equipment.
• Aligning and adjusting mechanical components for optimal performance.
• Overhauling equipment like pumps and gearboxes.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment.
• Inspecting finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Following safety procedures for working with hot metal and heavy machinery.
