Project Quality Engineer

Establish a focal point to interface with supply management, and QA/QC functions, to ensure seamless inspections, Supplier performance improvement and manage client nominated TPI's.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Run periodic reports to retrieve SAP – QWR / QIR / IP work requests or their CS10.5 assignments.
• Flexible to prioritize activity based on daily basis to meet business needs.
• Review applicable industry specifications/codes/ standards, i.e. ASME, AWS, ISO, API. against project requirements.
• Develop, implement and Maintain Customer / Quality documentation.
• Develop or Review and Approve Supplier documents like ITP's, Procedures, NDT Reports etc.
• Coordinate with Suppliers for inspections and compilation of documents (MDB).
• Create and classify, assign, follow-up and close supplier Service Quality (SQ) and Product Quality (PQ) Incident Reports via QUEST.
• Lead and coordinate SQ/ PQ investigations with the investigation team to prevent recurrences.
• Manage Supplier NCR process.
• Actively communicate issues and bottlenecks to Product Supply Lead (PSL) and Project Manager for trouble shooting.
• Perform tasks and special projects as assigned by Product Supply Lead (PSL) and RQM
• Maintain issues log for Quality team and Lessons learnt to avoid recurrence
• Capture Lessons Learned during the execution of tasks and recommend necessary team training(s) or provide feedback to the project and supplier for implementation
• Lead Process improvements – Root Cause Investigations, Implementation of Corrective & Preventive actions.
• Responsible to ensure all changes to scope are properly managed, implemented and reported
• Engage suppliers to continuous improvement, conducting evaluation of new suppliers as well periodic audits of existing suppliers as needed; that includes planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up on effective implementation of remedial work plans to ensure compliance to applicable Standards/ Project requirements.
• Develop Supplier Quality Improvement Plans and.
• Report periodically to RQM, on status of Quality tasks, Utilization and other activities
• of assigned task(s)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Engineering discipline or worked within quality discipline for a minimum of 5 years
• Have held a position in quality organization for a minimum of 3 years as a Quality Inspector / Supervisor; Manufacturing/Fabrication/Welding Engineer
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proven communication skills at all levels
• Knowledge of standards for oil field process equipment design.
• Knowledge of inspection and NDE requirements.
• Experience / skill with quality tools and techniques.

Preferred Skills

• Worked with a medium to heavy manufacturing facility with machining, welding and assembly processes
• Have managed a quality management system in compliance with a recognized program (i.e. ISO 9001) Qualified as Internal Auditor
• Proven skills in quality improvement techniques (i.e. Six Sigma)
• Proven track record of delivering improvements in quality performance
• Have relevant product knowledge or ability to learn product knowledge.
• Ability to create quality requirements that meets design criteria.
• Ability to read complex PFDs and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of various materials of construction.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1, AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3.
• Ability to convey mechanical design details to drafting personnel for the preparation of fabrication and layout drawings.
• Ability to verify vessel designs from the perspective of operation and maintenance.
• Competency in pressure vessel and structural welding preferred.
• CWI certification a plus.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Ability to work cooperatively with various company departments associated with designing, estimating, fabricating, operating, and selling this equipment.
• Ability to utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
