Core responsibilities

  • Project management: Manage projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget by collaborating with project managers and other engineers.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve problems with electrical systems and equipment.
  • Manufacturing supervision: Oversee the production and installation of electrical systems to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Research and compliance: Conduct research to develop new applications and ensure that all designs and systems comply with safety regulations and industry codes.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Technical: A strong understanding of engineering science, electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism, coupled with strong math and computer skills.
  • Problem-solving: The ability to analyze complex electrical challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaboration: Working effectively with other engineers (e.g., mechanical, software) and project managers.
  • Tools: Proficiency with design and simulation tools, such as CAD software, is often required.
