Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Credit Scoring Model Developer with a fintech background to design, develop, and enhance our credit risk assessment models. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in credit risk modeling, machine learning, and working with non-traditional data sources to improve credit decisioning. This role requires hands-on experience in developing models specifically for fintech lending, as opposed to traditional banking environments.

Key Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, and maintain credit scoring models for various lending products.


• Utilize alternative data sources (e.g., transaction data, behavioral data, digital footprints) to improve credit risk assessment.


• Implement machine learning techniques to optimize credit decisioning and risk assessment.


• Continuously monitor and refine credit models to improve accuracy and reduce default rates.


• Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and risk teams to integrate models into production systems.


• Conduct A/B testing and back testing to validate model effectiveness.


• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines while maintaining innovative risk assessment approaches.


• Develop real-time credit risk strategies to enhance customer experience and risk mitigation.

Qualifications & Skills:


• years of experience in credit risk modeling within a fintech environment (not banking).


• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical techniques, and credit risk modeling methodologies.


• Hands-on experience with Python, R, SQL, and data science tools.


• Familiarity with alternative credit data sources and their integration into risk models.


• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.


• Understanding of regulatory requirements around credit risk in fintech.


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on execution.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile, and data-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience in developing real-time credit decisioning models.


• Knowledge of explainable AI (XAI) and fairness in credit modeling.


• Prior experience in lending, BNPL, or digital credit products within fintech.
