13The Role: Database Architect.
The Team: We are looking for a highly self-motivated hands-on Database Architect who would focus on our database infrastructures estate and automations and DevOps engineering within our enterprise solutions division.

Responsibilities: The Database Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions that support business applications and data integration requirements. This role involves defining database structures, ensuring optimal performance, and driving database strategy to align with organizational objectives. The Database Architect collaborates with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure database solutions.
Database Design & Architecture
• Design scalable, high-performance database solutions using SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Define database schema structures, indexing strategies, and partitioning techniques for optimal performance.
• Develop data models to support application requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Establish standards for database design, security, and performance tuning.
Database Development & Integration
• Work closely with development teams to implement database solutions that align with application requirements.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views for business logic.
• Ensure seamless integration between database systems and data pipelines.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
• Analyze database performance metrics and implement indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies.
• Leverage tools like SQL Server Profiler, Oracle AWR, and AWS Performance Insights to monitor and improve performance.
Data Security & Compliance
• Implement encryption, access controls, and auditing measures to secure data assets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO standards.
• Collaborate with security teams to manage database vulnerabilities and risks.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
• Develop comprehensive backup, recovery, and failover strategies for business continuity.
• Design high availability solutions using SQL Server Always On, Oracle Data Guard, or AWS Multi-AZ configurations.
Collaboration & Documentation
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain detailed documentation for database designs, configurations, and performance benchmarks.
What We're Looking For:
• Expertise in database design, data modeling, and schema development.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud database solutions like Amazon RDS or Azure SQL Database.
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with data replication, partitioning, and sharding techniques.
• Proficiency in automation tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• 14+ years of experience in database design, architecture, and administration.
• Proven experience in cloud database solutions and large-scale data management projects.
Preferred Certifications:
• AWS Certified Database – Specialty
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Oracle Certified Master (OCM)
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
