Job Title: Manager - Furniture Costing Estimator

Location: Pilerne, Goa

Department: Product Development

Role Overview

The Costing Manager will be responsible for leading costing and estimation activities for both standard and custom-designed products/projects. This includes product costing, project cost analysis, budget forecasting, and BOM management while ensuring alignment with production, sales, and procurement functions. The role demands strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to deliver accurate cost insights that drive profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Project Costing

• Conduct detailed analysis of product and project costs, including materials, labor, and overheads, to ensure accurate budget planning and profitability.
• Review client designs, blueprints, technical documents, and project plans to align estimates with requirements and compliance standards.
• Develop detailed cost models, BOQs, and forecasts for new and existing products/projects.
• Calculate and allocate overhead costs using standard methods, ensuring cost accuracy across products and services.
• Identify potential cost-overrun factors and propose actionable cost-saving solutions.

Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with the Production department to stay updated on manufacturing processes, resource consumption, and cost structures.
• Collaborate with the Procurement team to source cost-effective materials without compromising quality.
• Coordinate across departments to streamline execution and ensure smooth workflows.
• Advise designers on cost-effective alternative materials when required.

BOM & Documentation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date BOMs for all products, ensuring timely updates for design/material changes.
• Validate material lists provided by the team to avoid shortages or excess in procurement.
• Provide procurement teams with precise material requirements for timely purchasing.
• Ensure all team-prepared costings are checked and verified for accuracy.
• Prepare comprehensive cost reports, variance analyses, and documentation for management, stakeholders, and audits.
• Maintain meticulous records of estimated vs. actual costs for forecasting and historical analysis.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and present cost reports with insights into variances, trends, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and audit requirements.
• Support strategic decision-making by providing cost-related inputs to management.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in furniture costing
• Strong understanding of product costing and manufacturing/production processes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50, ₹60,000.00 per month
