Role Overview

The Market Development Officer is responsible for generating soil, leaf, fertilizer, and organic manure analysis samples. The role involves working closely with FPOs, research institutes, farmer groups, and individual farmers to promote analytical services, build field-level relationships, and support scientific advisory programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sample Generation & Field Activities

  • Generate soil, leaf, fertilizer, and organic manure samples as per monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Visit FPOs, farmer groups, agri-institutes, agro-input dealers, and progressive farmers.
  • Conduct farmer meetings, awareness programs, and field demonstrations.
  • Coordinate with internal laboratories for sample submission and report delivery.

2. Market Development & Outreach

  • Identify new areas, FPOs, and institutions for partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agricultural stakeholders.
  • Promote sustainable agriculture and analysis-based advisory services.

3. Customer Support & Relationship Management

  • Guide farmers and stakeholders on sample collection procedures.
  • Explain analysis reports and advisory recommendations.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and implementation of advice.

Qualification & Skills

Educational Qualification:

  • B.Sc. Agriculture / ABM / B.Sc. Chemistry / Any Science discipline

Experience:

  • Experience in soil/leaf analysis sample generation

    OR
  • Experience in market development in the agriculture input sector

Skills Required:

  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Basic knowledge of soil health and crop nutrition (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Basic computer skills
